The total study load is 2520 hours (90 ECTS). The course takes twenty five months (approx. 28 hours a week). The course is built up of five modules and a thesis. You will study in five different countries. Each participating Occupational Therapy school is responsible for a single module while all schools together are reswponsible for the thesis module. Each module consists of 336 study hours (12 ECTS) and consists of three phases:
Preparatory module work
During the preparatory module work (56 hours) you will collect and reflect upon information related to the module in your own country. You will receive guidance from the module coordinator by e-mail.
Class work
During the class work (80 hours) you will meet in the country hosting the module, for the 'taught' element of the study. You will attend intensive classes with tutoring and lectures. Leading occupational therapy academics are invited as visiting professor in each module.
Assessment
The first four modules are assessed through a paper of 3000 to 4000 words each (200 hours).
Thesis planning
Module five deals with the planning of your research and you will travel for one week in order to attend intensive masterclasses and for examination of the research proposal.
Thesis
Module six: the thesis, consists of a research article ready for publication (4000-5000 words) and an extended introduction and conclusion to the research (4000 words). The oral examination consists of a presentation of the research and the outcomes during a conference in one of the hosting countries.
